Areas of Interest
Her research involves two main areas: medical visit communication in the health professional-patient relationship, and patients' adherence to medical recommendations for healthy behavior and the prevention and treatment of disease. She studies how these two areas intersect and the ways in which therapeutic communication can influence whether and how patients manage and adhere to treatments. She is currently interested in interventions using mobile app technologies to improve patient adherence.
Kelly Haskard-Zolnierek received her B.A. in psychology from Claremont McKenna College in 2000 and her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California, Riverside in 2007.
